The Trip

Hello. In light of recent events and comments made by some individuals, we thought this would be a good time to remind people of the idea and concepts behind The Trip.

We're here to provide a platform for people to post their work. Whether it be music, photography, writing, opinions and literally anything else we like. Basically; good shit. We'd like to focus on the North East, but we're happy to post things from further afield too.

Anyways, personal attacks are lame, and pathetic. We don't care how many hits we get, how much money we make out of it, or what other people think of it. It's our baby, we'll try our best with it and if we help to give a few bands, some journalists and whoever else a little bit of the exposure they deserve we've achieved our main goal.

The only other real goals we have, are to perhaps get Berwick and the surrounding area some recognition, publish and produce a beautiful looking printed form of the site (whether it be a newspaper, magazine, whatever) and to generate discussion and debate on the features we post.

Hopefully the first issue will be printed in the summer, with a little bit of help from everyone, it could be great. And the discussions that have been happening on here haven’t really been what we're after, although some fabulous comments have been left. So we'd like it if you kept spreading the word, and maybe got involved a bit more, be it sending us some work we can post, or commenting on a post we've made, it's all great. Hopefully we can generate some interest in Berwick.

  1. well said, massive over reaction by a few people I think. All meant to be a bit of fun isn't it?

  2. Agreed, think the whole thing is a fantastic idea! But believe said negative comments should be completely ignored as it was taking the focus away from the brilliant work completed by certain individuals.

Well done to everyone who has contributed so far...

  3. I think you're trying to be like VICE, just relax, great ideas but don't be too pretentious and think people want to know the ins and outs of boring shite.

  4. maybe comments should be approved before they are allowed to be posted, might filter out all the negativity, leave the debate in but the crap out

  5. Wouldn't really be freedom of speech and all then though would it.

  6. true, but would leave out the insults, and the personal attacks that aren't necessary.

  7. Possible, but whoever had control of the moderation of the comments could decide on allowing only the comments they agree with. Not the way to go.

  8. Is it not possible to change the security settings for the site so that users are required to log in/register with a valid email address before posting a comment? That would get rid of the people who post anonymous comments solely with the intention of slagging someone else off.

I know they could use a fake name or something but the hassle of signing up etc may be enough to make them not bother.
