Thanks to @alan_turnbull for bringing these to my attention. Photographer Jamie Beck has an amazing series called "cinemagraphs". They're GIF's, but instead of the whole image being animated, only a small part is, making the images a glorious fusion of still and moving images. Genius.
Think you may have to click on the images to see the moving parts. Not sure why, just blogger being ridiculous.
