Acrylic
Good news! The boys from Acrylic have confirmed another DJ slot down in The Barrels, on Friday 9th September at 08.30. Even better news, it's free! Wahey. "Another pint for your gob" as Acrylic-er Chris says. Should be a class night, and if you don't turn up, you'll miss tunes like these getting played loud in your favourite downstairs basement cocktail bar thing.

Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday...
Friday evening saw a busy night in ol' Berwick. Firstly, highly anticipated Runway EDIT//.; @Charlotteaurora's fashion show/dance show at The Maltings. The show was sold out, and so as a 'model' I was shitting my pants. All was well, it was marvellous.
Thankfully no-one fell on the runway, all the models were brilliant and the evening went swimmingly. No hiccups what so ever. Massive well done Charlotte Summers, lets hope it happens again.
Into the bar to celebrate. Couple of Disaronnos and upstairs to the new Henry Travers Studio to see the brilliant Pilots and the also brilliant Won Mississippi. Next, down to Barrels to see Espionage of The Loc and Vinyl Jacket. Espionage down to a 3 piece again, played a pretty awesome set nailing their usual high energy antics. Vinyl Jacket were amazingly tight, and played some top quality tunes. Hope their rumoured Loc Lounge appearance goes ahead. I also managed to catch a word with Roy's Iron DNA's frontman, Ian Thompson, who confirmed the new album is almost done. Hopefully we'll be able to grab some tunes from it to showcase.
Everyone seemed to disappear and Berwick was back to its usual ghost town feeling. Which was a shame because the boys of Acrylic were on in Cashmere playing some belting soul tunes. Sadly, the venue didn't deliver on it's promises of cheap entry and drinks, and weren't too happy with the songs the lads were playing. Not the best. Hopefully we'll see them back on their own terms in Barrels soon though.

Acrylic
Last night saw the return of the Acrylic night to Barrells. It was smashing.
For those who don't know, Acrylic is an indie night run by @chris_hutton. It was the second time the lads had played in Barrels and I'm sure they'll be back soon. They played The Strokes, Sum 41, The Courteeners, some Kasabian, some Beatles, I could go on naming top quality stuff for a long time. I won't.
After Barrells, me and Chris stumbled across a party, (which turned out to be one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had; I was sat on the roof of a local wine bar apparently, but that's another story) and a new internet TV show; The Loc Lounge. Of course, it's organised and presented by local heros Espionage of the Loc, and they are planning to host a bunch of bands and stuff and it looks like its going to be pretty cool. They've already had Vinyl Jacket play a set for them. Vinyl Jacket are sorted to play a set soon. I'll keep you updated with that.
Anyways, next Friday (15th April) the Acrylic lads are off to Cashmere for Souled Out. Which also promises to be great fun. They're going to be playing motown and soul and that kind of thing, so you should most definitely pop along and throw some shapes scientists and mathematicians have yet to discover. After, you have been to Runway EDIT of course.
